Our worship of the Almighty finds its heart in the words of Yahshua: “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him”(John 4:23 KJV).
We believe worship is communication with the Sovereign Yahweh and His Son, Yahshua HaMashiach. True worship enables us to ‘touch base’ with the reality of Deity. Deity, in turn, reaches down into the centre of our soul or, as Meister Eckhart puts it, the ‘ground of the soul’, two hearts pulsating as one. Worship of this depth and quality requires the worshipper to continually seek to “be holy even as He is holy” (Lev. 11:45;Matt. 5:48).
Of a prophetic nature, the music and worship of the Congregation is uncompromising, calling and encouraging Yahweh’s children everywhere to aim for the highest of all - temple worship (2 Chron).
The Creative Arts in Worship
Our music is unique! It characterises the history of the Congregation - a combination of traditional and contemporary styles expressing both our multicultural background and Hebraic roots. Music features extensively in all aspects of our worship. It reflects the depth of our experience and spiritual journey over many years. Often our music is used by the Holy Spirit to establish the word of Yahweh in the heart of the worshipper. The Band comprises a mixture of electronic, acoustic, wind and percussion instruments creating its own distinctive sound in support of the worship ministry. Worship leaders, singers and musicians are encouraged to explore their musical gifts and receive professional training where possible.
Singing plays a key role in all national and international gatherings of the Congregation. We love to sing! A variety of singers, male and female, of all ages, will typically lead the worship during a service. The congregation is blessed with many people with beautiful singing voices, and some have submitted this special gift to the Holy Spirit for His use.
Songs
The Congregation is blessed with gifted song writers. From time to time we enjoy a poignant new song, crafted by one of our worship artists. There have been periods, in our spiritual journey, when we have been flooded with a plethora of new songs: ‘living’ songs containing words of life; anointed songs often used by The Holy Spirit to confirm His work in our lives and to support the teachings and doctrines of Yahshua.
The creative arts such as mime and drama are utilised in various ways. Dance is also used effectively and adds an interesting dimension to the overall expression of worship. |
