Street Sports
Horizons provides a sports project for young people who are excluded or marginalised, seeking to develop potential shown in a variety of sports, normally seen played on the streets of our towns and cities, such as football, cricket, tennis and basketball. The general aims of the project are as follows:
- To provide young people, socialising on the streets who are socially excluded, with an opportunity to engage in a variety of sports throughout the year
- To offer tips and coaching in relation to key sports
To refer young people with potential in sport to various clubs, teams and managers operating in and around the county, where further expertise is needed
- To encourage coaches and managers to scout for potential among those young people engaging with the project
- To provide funding to those individuals showing potential to further develop their abilities
- To build positive relationships with young people and parents/carers that will develop trust and confidence between workers and target group
- To ultimately encourage young people to positively engage with institutions in society that will either develop their sporting potential or build a foundation on which life choices can be made

Feed the Hungry
Horizons seeks to further develop the initiative of the Congregation of Yahweh (Nottm), by providing food and clothing to homeless individuals, who struggle to find much needed support. The aim is to go beyond that of food and clothing and to offer skills that might ultimately see individuals accessing employment. Horizons also seeks to network with other organisations who are specifically set up to offer shelter to those in such unfortunate circumstances.
The project will take place, initially, on Saturday evenings, in the Church hall at Nottingham.

Christian Community Football League (CCFL)
Each Monday evening at Harvey Hadden Sports Centre a good group of people (male and female, young and old), meet together to engage in 5-a-side football. The group consists of members of The Congregation of Yahweh (Nottm) and friends of those members, along with member from a Church in Beeston, Nottingham.
Currently this is more of a social event but the hope is to eventually interest a number of churches in Nottinghamshire and set up a semi-competitive league for Christian Churches. All those who regularly attend express appreciation for the initiative. This, we believe, could prove to be a relevant means of evangelical outreach to families and friends. It is our vision that many churches across the region will see additions to their numbers as a result of the project.
