There have been times when my life has seemed overshadowed by a gridlock of cloud, the days dreary and dull; times when Yahweh seems to have distanced Himself from me and prayer dries in the heart. There have been times when I have ‘hammered’ out despairing cries and wondered what I had done that this [or that!] should be happening to me. I have learned, over the years, that whatever is happening in my life and whether I am conscious of Yahweh’s presence or not, He is always there. Clouds over my home did not stop the sun from setting! Trouble in my life does not stop Yahweh from working out His divine purpose for me in His own timeline. George MacDonald wrote, “[Yahweh] in His providence has a thousand keys to open a thousand different doors in order to deliver His own, no matter how desperate the situation may have become.”
Ancient wisdom records that “…human beings are born to trouble just as sparks fly upward” (Job 5:7) and Yahweh doesn’t dispute this. He does, however, say, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) He is as dependable as the rising and setting of the sun; His presence in our lives is unshakeable; wherever you may be today…He is there.
The eyes of [Yahweh] are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.
