Sometimes I am so caught up in the humdrum and the routines of every day that I forget I am moving towards a glorious future, an ‘afterwards’ beyond my comprehension. Yahshua purchased salvation for me at unbelievable cost and my heart delights to experience redemption with its glow of His Presence, its reality of relationship and its on-going challenge of ever-increasing holiness. I love this walk with Him, and I seldom consider the ‘afterwards’.
Throughout the ages men and women have had dreams, visions and experiences of the after-life, and the Bible is interwoven with spectacular glimpses of it. We can be so bound up with the [comparatively] short time we spend in this reality that the future seems unfocused instead of glorious. The fact is that as people of a heavenly kingdom we are only in transit here and journey’s end is a place of peace and beauty, contentment and fulfilment beyond our experience and therefore unimaginable. But promised, it is promised! And that by One Who never lies and whose ‘track record’ is impeccable; what He has said He will do!
‘Lift up your eyes to the hills’ and smile this week as you hold this joy close to your heart! Remember, whether we slip through the gateway of death or Yahshua returns in the clouds – the future is glorious!
He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into ploughshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war any more.
Isaiah 2:4 NIV
James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters...
