I was comforted by the thought that any ‘darkness’ my Father allowed me to face during the year would be ‘starlit’ with His own divine intentions for me, and these I can trust implicitly (Jeremiah 29:11). I was also reassured by the knowledge that those things which are the most difficult to understand will, nevertheless, be worked into my life to bring about the most good (Romans 8:28).
As you settle into 2015, I pray Yahweh will open your eyes to notice your ‘starlit year’, and I invite you to join me in prayer:
PRAYER FOR 2015
As I stand at the threshold of a new year my heart reaches out to You, my Father, in whom I find all that I need.
Your plans for me are relentless, inexorable, but always touched with Your love and mercy. I give myself to those plans; I yield myself to You. Whatever seems best to You, I accept.
For the past year I thank You; for the coming year I trust you. The hills, the valleys, the drought, the downpour, the need, the plenty, all the variety of life is needed to produce in us what You would see there.
Grant me grace, strength and peace to walk whatever way You have planned for me.
‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares [Yahweh], ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
