I reminded her that she’d told me she felt really uncomfortable about accepting the invitation in question. I watched the slow dawn of understanding in her eyes, “You mean that was His way of saying don’t go?” she breathed. I put the question back to her, “Well what do you think?” Recently the same friend and I were talking about finding Yahweh’s will in an important situation and she twinkled at me, “Well at least now I know when He’s saying, ‘No!’”
I thought about this incident when considering how Yahweh stopped Paul going into Asia and later, Bithynia; Paul also knew when Yahweh was saying ‘No!’ Later he would do some of his greatest work in these areas, but firstly he was ‘…kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the Word in the province of Asia.” [Acts 16:6]
Getting to recognise Yahweh’s ‘No!’ in our personal lives is, I believe, a key to finding His will. I imagine most of us can relate to my friend; we’ve done things we felt uncomfortable about and lived to regret. Indentifying Yahweh’s ‘stop light’, the way He speaks His ‘No!’ into our spirits, is a skill we all have to learn. Don’t be too hard on yourself if it takes some practice! Walking in His will produces a confidant heart and a hopeful step; knowing His Will is the joy and journey of a lifetime.
Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls

If you feel that your life is in a rut. If you feel trapped by anything that you can’t seem to get out of. [Yahweh] is the [Elohim] of wonderful change. He will release you, whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
