Thought For The Week 40

Nothing that happened in the Garden of Eden took Yahweh by surprise!  When He cursed the serpent He promised that the seed (offspring) of Eve would crush his head, while his seed would only strike at the heel of the righteous seed. [Genesis 3:14-15] Scripture clearly shows how Yahweh planned for this to be fulfilled.  Read through Deuteronomy and share Moses’s reminiscences, repeated instructions and continual encouragement towards holiness, and wonder at the selection of a nation to become the bearer of that righteous seed.  The character of the Most High had to be imprinted on a people so that a righteous line might give us a virtuous young woman to bear Yahweh’s Son.

In the Torah we find Yahweh audaciously laying out His plans through the medium of the Feasts. Through the prophets He adds details and substance to His plans; in the Gospels He records a glorious fulfilment in the arrival of His righteous Seed right on time!

Today the battle for the control of human souls continues to rage, and we need to stay close to Yahweh so that we are not deceived (see Mark 13:22).  We know how this battle will end – it is recorded in Revelation – for Yahshua has already won the victory.  As His warriors we need only administer the defeat! But there will be casualties! Let’s keep our eyes on Yahshua and His righteousness and He will ensure that we are in the right place at the right time to be part of that final victory.

Surely the Sovereign [Yahweh] does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
