Training

The Development of our Training Facility

"Take young people in and train them and teach them how to work"
These were the words spoken by Yahweh to Elder Peter Warsop in 1966.

The Ministers' Training Home at 18 Baker Street, Nottingham, was born out of this instruction. Young men and women flocked to be part of what was happening there, and so the years of community living and training began. The young people were expected to give all their time to the forwarding of the work and a great spirit of dedication and vision took hold of them as they yielded their lives to the driving, energising power that had the church in its grip.

After Baker Street came Newstead Grove where the existing community home was extended and renamed Covenant College. This huge complex comprising six properties was used purely for the purpose of training ministers. For more than three decades Covenant College was the centre of learning of the Congregation. Hundreds of lives have been changed forever because of the high standard of teaching and character training they received.
In 2005 the congregation purchased a new Training and Administration Centre at Arboretum Gate, North Sherwood Street, Nottingham. It is our desire to continue the great work which Elder Warsop started. We intend to train people of all ages, helping them to fulfil their potential and discover and complete their 'ordained works' on the earth; we believe the new training centre is a confirmation of this. We see Yahweh's hand on this centre and we trust Him to direct us for the future.
