Not A New Year Resolution
Thought For The Week 19
As I was musing this morning I thought about the Apostle Paul’s instruction to ‘...glorify [Yahweh] in your body, and in your spirit, which are [Yahweh’s]. (1 Corinthians 6:20) It opens up an amazing possibility that every act of my life can bring glory to Yahweh. And just in case I hesitate to believe it, I remember Paul adds the basic essentials of eating and drinking. (1 Corinthians 10:31) I do a ‘double-take’ in my thoughts. I ponder on my life. I eat and drink without much deep thought! How can this bring glory to Yahweh? Yet, apparently, even such basic acts of living can!
I am humbled as I look forward into 2014 and see the endless, unfolding opportunities to bring glory to Yahweh. I won’t manage to fulfil this instruction by becoming overly anxious about it but each day as I ‘live and move and have my being’ in the centre of Yahweh’s plan for me He will be honoured and glorified. Not a New Year’s resolution, but a comforting truth to provoke me to live ever more closely to Him as, together, we step out into the New Year.
And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of [Yahshua] and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to [Yahweh] the Father through Him.

The Test Of LoveWe look at our lives through a spiritual lens now, as we see how our actions as husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, friends and coaches, workers and employers relate to [Yahweh's] will.
