Sealed Orders
Thought For The Week 138
The admiral who takes his fleet out to sea under sealed orders (most common during wartime), will be carrying an all-important, closed package containing specific instructions from his government. He is under strict command not to open the package until a specified time or place. He is then expected to fulfil his orders regardless of nature or cost; his training has prepared him for this very event, and his loyalty and sense of duty will carry him through.
Yahweh has a plan for each of us, individually crafting our lives by His love and care, but we are not necessarily privy to the plan. Sometimes trouble blows in and upsets everything, the ‘sealed orders’ become hard to understand! Remember, He is always nearby, encouraging us to trust in His omnipotence and goodness. As 2017 unfolds so will our ‘orders’, let’s face whatever they bring with peace in our hearts and confidence in His eternal justice, mercy and faithfulness. Whatever the ‘package’ may contain, we will not have to face it alone. “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic…For [Yahweh] will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT)
