It is also true that our Father exposes us to trials that become a ‘refiner’s fire’ in our experience, purging away impurities and dross and leaving behind a clearer, deeper imprint of our beloved Yahshua on our personality and life. Even the fact that we face a trial can have its own joy for it shows that Yahshua is spending time and energy on our lives – and He does that because He sees something precious in us.
I was blessed recently when I read, “[Messiah] would not test us if He did not see the precious metal of faith mingled with the rocky core of our nature, and it is to refine us into purity and beauty that He forces us through the fiery ordeal.” [Anon] I love the thought of precious metal being mingled with the ‘rocky core’ of my nature, even while I am sobered by the idea of being ‘forced’ through a fiery ordeal.
May Yahweh be with you through every trial and bring you at last into the eternal presence of your Beloved.
…don’t be surprised at the fiery trials…Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with [Messiah] in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
