Follow The Leader

Thought For The Week 4

I am arrested by how much the people are affected by their kings; yet should I be? I see how they followed David in his worship of Yahweh, Solomon in his building of the Temple, Jeroboam in the making of a golden calf and Hezekiah in the restoration of Temple Worship.

Leaders have a heavy burden of responsibility for those they are called to serve for they will have a long-term effect on those lives. As leaders it is imperative that we learn how to live close to the heart of Yahweh; that we strive to know Him and understand His mind for His people.

As followers we must pray for our leaders that Yahweh will keep them and that they will walk humbly before Him. We should support them with love, faithfulness and encouragement and make their job easier by seeking to know Yahweh for ourselves.

1 Corinthians 11:1 [Amplified Bible]

Pattern yourselves after me [follow my example], as I imitate and follow (the Messiah).

Pause For Thought

We need to stop worrying about some things in life. [Yahweh] is on our side. He is behind us, with us and ahead of us.
