One day Yahshua, full of joy, burst into praise and blessed His Father for opening the eyes of ‘little children’ to understand heavenly matters; men and women not, perhaps, wise by the world’s standards, but whose hearts Yahweh had touched. In the overflow of that joy He said to His disciples, “….no-one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him,” (Luke 10:22 emphasis mine). This is so thrilling, so utterly amazing! As I meditated on what appears to be a clear and straightforward statement, I could not help but think of all that underpinned it.
Do we know Yahweh? It is Yahshua Who has chosen to reveal Him to us! To know the Father is one of the great promises attached to the New Covenant (see Jeremiah 31:31-34). The New Covenant was ratified by blood, the blood which Yahshua gave at Calvary. He is the Linchpin of the New Covenant and therefore He has the right to choose to whom He will reveal His Father. This is awesome in its simplicity. If we are among those to whom Yahweh is being revealed, we are honoured and blessed beyond comprehension. For me it is one of the great luxuries of walking in the ‘ancient paths’!
